The Code Switch series was conceived of as a formal framework and methodology relating to the sociological behavior of moving between two cultural identities in an effort by marginalized groups to gain acceptance. The inherent absurdity of this process of self-denial seemed a potent starting point for a series which might stylistically highlight opposition, to foreground tension and ambiguity and to attempt to reflect what I see and how it rests inside of me.
